Good Day Everyone,
Im going to share my opinion about this policy. Alcohol Policy is implemented all the time in onboard ship. Not just a policy but a rules to be followed to avoid human error that may caused hazard to the ship and to our fellow seafarers.
As we all know, the blood alcohol content must be 0.04%mg for the safety purposes. Thou, we may break this rules due to human desire to drink during a saturday night, feast, birthday and other more. The total consumption of alcohol must be within your limit and have time to rest.
When you have a duty, you must rest 4 hours and avoid drinking too much alcohol before duty time so that it may not affect your performances to avoid human error.
Alcohol is the caused of human error also accidents that affects the seafarer safety.
Drinking maybe not be permitted according to the policy but sometimes we can break this rules to have fun, socialization, bonding and to celebrate birthdays. Always remember, Drink Responsibly and Come back home safely.
